Drag to orbit it: left and right spins the galaxy on its own axis, up and down rolls it through edge-on and over onto its back. Neither stops anywhere — keep going and it turns over as many times as you like. Let go mid-drag and the throw carries on, easing out, while the stars run their own orbits regardless. Which way it turns is not a free choice: arms trail, so the spin follows from the way they wind.
