Perfect Placement

Jun 16, 2025

Overview

Perfect Placement is a mod for RimWorld that rethinks how you orient buildings. Vanilla RimWorld only lets you rotate a blueprint in 90° steps with a keypress before placing it. This mod lets you pin an object under the cursor and rotate it freely with the mouse — much like placing objects in The Sims — then drop it exactly where and how you want.

What it does

  • Mouse rotation — hold left-click to pin an object, move the mouse to rotate, release to place.
  • Auto-orientation — seating automatically turns to face tables, workbenches, and other compatible buildings.
  • Keep original rotation — reinstalled objects retain their original facing by default.
  • Rotation override — force a specific direction (North, East, South, West) for every build, install, or reinstall.

A directional arrow indicates blueprint orientation as you work, and the mod is localized into several languages. It supports RimWorld 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6.
